Rev Theory

The band Revelation Theory was formed in 1997 its made up of lead singer Rich Luzzi, back up singer and bassist Matty McCloskey, guitarist Julien Jorge and Rikki Lixx, and drummer Dave Agoglia. The band met up at Marrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. They later moved to Long Island, New York where they ran into Matty at New York University which completed the band. They got gigs at alot of local clubs and bars before getting recognized. They soon recorded an EP and began touring in 2005 where they were taped for the Girls Gone Wild Rocks America tour. Thats when the band decided to sign with EMI subsidiary Element Records. After signing, the band changed their name from Revelation Theory to Rev Theory.

After signing with EMI the band soon released their first album Truth is Currency in 2005. Truth is Currency consisted of the bands first hit single "Slowburn" which has reached #27 on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 2005. This was a big push from a small garage band turning into a famous rock band. In 2006 Rev Theory toured around Europe with some of United States top rock performers such as Saliva and Evanescence. They stood outside of venues before and after shows with CD's, stickers, and an endless energy to connect with their organically growing fan base.(Official site) This tour helped the band make a name for themselves in the rock community. In 2007 a few more popular bands decided to tour with Rev Theory such as Buckcherry, Papa Roach and, Hinder. "Lead singer Rich and bassist Matty combine to form a vocal powerhouse, harrowingly harmonious in their two-prong tonsil attack that marries gloriously with Julien’s locomotive rhythms and Dave’s thunderous skins".(Sing365) After this tour the band decided to sign with a new record label Interscope Records. Soon after Rev Theory released their second album "Light It Up" released June 10, 2008. "Light It Up started off with great potential to be a memorable release, but turned out to be a decent collection of hard rock tracks. The album isn’t terrible, but there’s a lack of originality that is blatantly apparent throughout Light It Up".(411mania) This album caught the attention of the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Rev Theory's song Light It Up was announced the theme of wrestlings biggest pay-per-view event Wrestlmania XXIV. Rev theory spent the end of 2008 opening for Hinder and Trapt on the Jagermeister Music Tour.

In January 2009 Rev theory begain touring with Theory of a Deadman and Ten Second Epic, and later in May toured with Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold, and Papa Roach. On Friday, August 28, Rev Theory appeared on the Bubba the love Sponge Show on Siruis/Xm Satellite Radio for a very open and revealing interview.

Rev theory's song "Hell Yeah" also caught attention of alot of people. Soon after it became the theme song of wrestlings very own One Night Stand. Hell Yeah's music video included one of WWE's Divas Ashley Massaro. "All this publicity is both a blessing and a curse for the band. It gives the band a market to garner sales from, yet it also pigeon-holes the band into a certain stereotype: the music only a WWE fan could like. Since most people assume WWE fans are idiotic, ignorant, and low class (which, of course, is far from the case), that isn’t such a great group to be a part of." (411mania) The song Hell Yeah was later broght in by NHL Detroit Red Wings as well as the Cartoon Network sporting event, "Slamball"(censored to Hey Yeah). On May 16, 2009 the song was declared the opening them to a new comedy series on Spike called Blue Mountain State. Later this year on August 7, 2010 the band will be having a concert with some of the other famous rock bands in Canada called "Rock on the Range".
The bands newest hit Broken Bones was made for Juliens mother who has past away from cancer and the song is that is out out there to remember loved ones who have passed away
